Lydd ranges

Serial 34 at Lydd ranges is a 600m Small Arms Live Firing Marksmanship Training (LFMT) gallery range

This range uses conventional target frames featuring common circular targets. When shooting on this serial the shooting party is split into groups by the RCO. One group shoots whilst the other group marks the targets. Generally each detail will be between 30 and 45 mins in length. The range features foxholes at the 300m firing point. Firing points beyond 300m require participants to adopt the prone shooting position (shooting mat or equivalent is highly recommended). Due the nature of this range details can be organised for 300m only, which would allow use of all 12 lanes and the car park adjacent to the 300m firing point. When shooting from the 600m firing point, targets are restricted to 4 only and all access to the range is restricted to the car park at the 600m firing point.

 

Serial 42 at Lydd ranges is a 400m Small Arms Live Firing Marksmanship Training (LFMT) ET (IM) range

This range features electrically operated knock down style targets. When shooting on this range, the firing party all remain at the firing point. Targets are arranged at 100m intervals out to 400m and present themselves at either random intervals or as per a pre-programmed sequence. Generally each detail will be around 30 mins. The range features foxholes at the firing point. These serials are generally good for all club type rifle types (even .22 rim-fire rifles out to 200m).

Serial 43 at Lydd ranges is a 100m 12 lane Grouping and Zeroing Range (G & Z)

Serial 45 at Lydd ranges is a Small Arms Field Firing – Live Firing Tactical Training (LFTT) Multi-Activity range

This range features 25 electrically operated knock down style targets arranged between 100m and 1100m. When shooting on this range, the firing party all remain at the firing point. Targets are arranged at fixed random intervals within the ark of fire. Generally each detail will be around 30 mins. The range features foxholes at the firing point. These serials are generally good for all club type rifle types (even .22 rim-fire rifles out to 200m).

Serial 47 at Lydd ranges is a 100m 5 lane Small Arms Live Firing Marksmanship Training (LFMT) GZR range with 2 targets per lane

This range uses wooden flag style with circular paper targets. When shooting on this range, the firing party all remain at the firing point other than to patch the targets between details. Generally each detail will be around 30 mins. These serials are ideal for working on grouping for your longer range rifles or for making use of .22 rim-fire rifles which is always very popular.

Serial 65 at Lydd ranges is a Small Arms Field Firing – Live Firing Tactical Training (LFTT) Multi-Activity range

This range features 16 electrically operated knock down style targets arranged between 200m and 700m. When shooting on this range, the firing party all remain at the firing point. Targets are arranged at fixed random intervals within the ark of fire. Generally each detail will be around 30 mins. The range features foxholes at the firing point. These serials are generally good for all club type rifle types (even .22 rim-fire rifles out to 200m).

 

Serial 65A at Lydd ranges is a 100m 6 lane Grouping and Zeroing Range (G & Z)

This range uses wooden flag style with circular paper targets. When shooting on this range, the firing party all remain at the firing point other than to patch the targets between details. Generally each detail will be around 30 mins. There are no foxholes provided on this range. Firing point requires participants to adopt the prone shooting position (shooting mat or equivalent is highly recommended).
